Boko Haram terrorists have killed 30 people after a prolonged attack on three villages in Borno State over the weekend, reports say.
The insurgents also injured 20 people during raids in the Warwara, Bura-Shika and Mangari areas, according to AFP.
“Most of the victims were slaughtered and most of the wounded [had suffered] machete cuts," Mustapha Karimbe, a civilian helping the Nigerian military, said.
Another witness, Musa Suleiman told AFP that 20 people were killed in Warwara, six in Bura-Shika and four in Mangari.
All the villages are said to be close to Buratai, which is the home town of Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai.
